Liturgical music helps to lift our hearts, minds and voices to God.  We praise God in song, we help to catechize the assembly as we sing about our faith, and we sing the words of scripture in our psalms and other songs which quote scripture.  If you are musically inclined, we would love for you take part in our music ministry here at St. Mary.  Here are four components of music ministry:

• Choir Members—We sing weekly at the 9:30 Mass, and we rehearse on Thursday evenings @ 6:00 p.m.  During the summer, we have a modified schedule.  We sing the hymns incorporating choral parts, and on Solemnities, we sing choral anthems. 
• Cantors – We lead the assembly in song, proclaim the responsorial psalm in song, and chant the Alleluia before the Gospel.  Rehearsals are scheduled individually or are conducted with the choir.  Cantors who sing at 9:30 Mass are asked to join the choir for part of the Mass.
• Instrumentalists – We have room for a variety of instruments including (but not limited to) flute, clarinet, violin, viola, cello, French horn, trumpet, and trombone. Instrumentalists could play for Sunday Masses, holidays, or both--whatever is most convenient. 
• Funeral Choir Members – We sing for all St. Mary funerals when we are available.
