Saint Mary Catholic Church’s Altar Servers

Updated: Oct 1, 2021

Altar Servers missed over 15 months of serving at the altar due to the Covid 19

Before scheduling them for upcoming Masses Sister Joanne Marie has been busy meeting with them to “review” what they already know and to tweak some new procedures. Over 38 servers went through a forty minute review.

The church also has over 30 NEW altar servers that are being trained by Sister. She practices with them so that they feel confident at the altar, prayerful and actively participating in the Eucharist. “I am so touched by the enthusiasm of our youth and their eagerness to serve! It is a great joy for me to be involved in this ministry! Our Faith Formation parishioners have also volunteered. It is a great way to get to know more students in our parish family!” said Sister Joanne Marie.

St. Mary Parish is a Catholic community built on the foundations of worship, hospitality, service, and education. Located in the historic district of Crown Point, Indiana, this community has provided Christian witness to South Lake County since 1865. Masses are celebrated every weekday at 7:45 am, Saturdays at 4:30 pm and Sundays at 7:30 am, 9:00 am, 10:30 am, and 12:00 pm. Everyone is welcome and no reservations are necessary.
